The adventure of night in the desert

Day 1 : The discoveries on our way Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley of the Roses – Dades Gorge

We will make an early departure from your accommodation. Our direction will be the high Atlas through the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Along the road you will find small villages and waterfalls. Tizin-Tichka means in the local language “neck path”. It isparticularly impressive, because the landscapes change colors successively, witch make the view really dramatic. A stop for mint tea gives you the opportunity to savor the surrounding beauty, before arriving at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where we stop for lunch. This village built entirely of adobe is manely straw and mud and was included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO. It is also very popular with Hollywood, many directors has chosen it for filming international movies such as Gladiator, Babel, Lawrence of Arabia, and many more. After, that Wonderfull discovery, we will continue to the Dades Gorges where we will stay in a hotel by the river for the night.

Day 2 : The desert Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Merzouga

After breakfast, we will have time to walk by the river before continuing to Todra Gorge for lunch. We will drive via the town of Erfoud to arrive at Erg Chebbi hotel in early afternoon. Once you arrive to Merzouga, the edge of the golden dunes, camels await for you. Yours luggage will be transported to the camp, while our desert guide, takes you across the dunes. We will be just in time for a speechless saharan sunset. At your arrival you will be host with tea and smiles. They will show you to your beautiful comfortable private tents equipped with ensuite bathrooms and showers, where you can relax and settle before dinner time. For dinner, we will have a traditional tagine, drink delicious mint tea, listen to traditional berber music while watching the stars and the rising moon above the dunes.

Day 3 : The Ouarzazate traditional houses Merzouga – Rissani – N’Kob – Agdez – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

An early morning wake up is recommended to assist sunrise from the top of Chebbi sand dunes. You will have breakfast in the camp, pack and go back either on camels or by wheels leaving the dunes behind us. Back on the alsphat road, we will pass through Rissani, the ancient capital of Morocco. The drive will take us through the Berber villages of Alnif, N’Kob and through the Draa Valley to Agdez. We will continue to Ouarzazate, where we will have lunch and visit the Taourirt Kasbah. Then we are going back to Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains. Arrival is plan in the early evening.
