4 Days Tour From Marrakech To Merzouga – Desert Trip

Day 1 : Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Valley Of The Roses – Dades Valley

You will meet at 8 AM with your driver at your riad or hotel, and depart from Marrakech to Dades valley, through the Tizi-NTichka pass (2260m) in the High Atlas Mountains. From Marrakech to Ouarzazate, you will enjoy beautiful landscapes along the road and the Berber villages. You will have free time here to visit the old Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, named a world heritage site by UNESCO. You will explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture of the Kasbahs, and then have lunch. Afterwards, you will go further south east to the green Dades valley and the city of roses via the fascinating Skoura. Dinner and overnight is in Dades valley.

Day 2 : Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, you will depart from your hotel in Dades valley at 8 AM, taking the road of 1000 kasbahs to drive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley. 45 km further, you will get to Tineghir with its beautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter. You will continue to Todra Gorges (Todgha), and have some free time to go on a trek to the canyons, which are about 300m high, and a favorite place for rock climbers. Afterwards you will leave to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and have lunch on the way before you arrive to Erfoud. Then we’ll head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. At 4 PM we go to ride the camels who will take us on an adventure in the Sahara and behold the magnificent sunset. At the the camp we will have dinner and enjoy drum music around the fire. This is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures. We will spend the night in nomad tents.

Day 3 : Merzouga – Rissani – Draa Valley – Ouarzazate

Early in the morning, you will wake up to view the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, followed by breakfast in the camp. Then we take a camel trek back to the hotel at the dune line, for a quick shower. From there, we drive to Rissani, a small Saharan town in southeast of Morocco, possibly stopping to to visit a fossil workshop before we continue to Agdez and Draa valley junction, heading north to Ouarzazate after crossing the small volcanic Atlas Mountains. Dinner and overnight is in Ouarzazate.

Day 4 : Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountaines – Marrakech :

After breakfast, we can enjoy a visit of cinema sets & studios located in Ouarzazate which is known as Hollywood of Africa. After, we will visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1987. It has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional architecture of the Kasbahs. We continue on our way to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass, breaking for lunch in the Atlas Mountains. Drop off is at your Marrakech riad/hotel.
