Your 12 Day Casablanca tour will begin with a journey to Rabat. Your time in Rabat will include visits to the most celebrated sights, eminent landmarks and additionally the corners of the Medina and the souks. You will have the opportunity to meet local people, appreciating the rich culture and delicious meals. Your overnight will be spent in the riad or hotel.
After breakfast at Rabat, we will drive you to Chefchaouen through the city of Knitra and the Rif Mountains, going through Wazzan and other Rif towns. By evening, we will land in Chefchaouen to eat then you will spend the night in your accommodation.
We will explore Chefchaouen – a lovely spot among the most wonderful urban communities in Morocco, and noted as one of the dazzling towns on the foot of the Rif mountains. You will discover Chefchaouen Medina, featuring a Spanish-style square encompassed by numerous craft stores and lovely arts, rooftop eateries and cafes where you will savour the delicious Moroccan food and spend a cool overnight enjoying the lovely natural breeze.
Opening your day with an energizing breakfast at your riad, we continue towards Volubilis. Once we arrive, we will explore the Roman ruins and learn about the archeological site and its history. After exploring the ruins, we will continue to Meknes, a town with seventeenth-century traditions. We will stop at this spot to get a delicious lunch and after that venture along the monumental walls of the medina, Bab el Mansour and visit Moulay Ismail’s shrine. After this excursion to Meknes we continue to Fes city, the town where you will spend the night.
After breakfast you will start a full day tour, visiting the oldest town in Morocco, taking you into the past by touring its alleys and narrow streets. We start the tour by going to the Royal Palace doors, and the Jewish quarter, which is the first Mellah built in Morocco around the sixteenth century.
We will make sure that you visit every interesting corner of the old medina with historical and cultural features including Al Qaraouine University (the most ancient in the world), the Tanneries, the Mulay Idriss catacomb, and Attarine museum. Directly after lunch, you will continue to the tiles cooperative place and complete the day by enjoying the superb panoramic view of the whole medina of Fez.
You will have a free morning in Fez, and afterward, in the early afternoon, you will travel from Fes to Ifrane, a mountain town, called the “Switzerland of Morocco”. From there, we continue to Midelt. During this excursion you will see views of the Middle Atlas mountains. Arriving at Azrou, a Berber town in the middle of the famous cedar woods, where you may well catch sight of some Barbary apes.
After enjoying your time inside the forest playing with the monkeys and feeding them, your journey will continue to Midelt along the amazing slopes and the Atlas Mountains. As the day ends, you will stop in Midelt and spend the night there.
After breakfast in your lovely lodging, you will start your excursion to Merzouga through Errachidia and Erfoud. You will travel through Tiz N Talghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge while admiring the beautiful landscapes and panoramic views of the High Atlas mountains. On the way, you will see how the scenery changes revealing hints of the Sahara desert. In Errachidia you will get an extraordinary lunch and enjoy Berber hospitality.
Finally, you will travel along the Ziz Valley, taking a break to see the panoramic views of Erfoud and Rissani. You will arrive in the evening at Merzouga. Here you will sip a glass of mint tea before you start your camel ride to spend a night at the desert camp with Berber music around the fire.
The camel man will wake you up early to see the gorgeous dawn and appreciate the morning breeze of the Sahara desert. From that point you’ll camel-trek back to your accommodation – delighting in the magnificence of the remarkable Erg Chebbi hills. Directly after breakfast and a shower, you will continue to see Khamlia village people, a unique village inhabited by people brought from Mali and Sudan. In this place, you will meet the locals and learn about their special music named “Gnawa”. After visiting the surrounding area of the desert and its villages you’ll have lunch with the special Moroccan Pizza “Medfouna”. Finally, you will spend your night in the hotel.
With an early breakfast at the hotel, we will travel off-road, crossing the exquisite dark desert and Berber oases of palm trees and mud houses. Then we’ll arrive at Alnif town, a spot famous for its fossil workshops, where we will take a break for a drink. Refreshed, we will continue the excursion through the high Atlas mountains to see the incredible canyons of Todgha where springs of waterspouts cascade over the stones, and appreciate the awesome natural beauty. After exploring the gorges, the excursion will continue through the lovely mountains of the Dades Valley where we will conclude the day’s trip spending the night in a wonderful hotel at the top point of the mountain.
Enjoy an amazing breakfast at the hotel, and after you will visit the Dades Valley and then depart to Kalaa M’gouna and Ouarzazate. This way through Dades Valley is called “the way of the thousand kasbahs” – offering excellent opportunities to take the best photos of your trip. The Valley of roses is known for its extraordinary roses and the film city of Ouarzazate.
We will go by Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – a significant Kasbah in Morocco, developed by T-Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chiefs. It is used to be one of his main stops during his long treks from the Sahara to Marrakech, and now it is a UNESCO world heritage spot.
Then we will continue to cross the exceptionally Atlas Mountains with a few stops to see the panoramic views and the delightful Berber towns. Marrakech is your final destination, where you’ll spend the night.
After breakfast you will have a guided tour through Marrakech where you will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and numerous other hidden treasures like the Majorelle gardens. After lunch, you will go to the exquisite Koutoubia Mosque and the bustling Jemaa el-Fna, one of the central interests of Marrakech.
You will have the chance to appreciate a lively night with the local performers, storytellers, and mouthwatering grilled dishes. This wonderful tour also includes a visit to the souk (open market), and an amazing dinner at your accommodation.
Enjoy your day in Morocco, and finally you will make your way to Casablanca for your departure. This completes your 12 Day Casablanca tour.
